I first saw the Ben Franklin quote in T-shirt in 2000 in college. I repeated it online ever since.

About 8-9 years later I looked for its original source and couldn’t find it. I stopped. I haven’t seen it much lately, has there been a resurgence?

pet peeve of mine as well. and it goes for more recent dead peeps as well- Marilyn Monroe and George Carlin, especially. And the REAL quotes, real meaning and real context are always that much more interesting!

One of the strongest messages on history you've written, because words, and who said them and why, have meaning.

A quote joke I like to use when faced with hard work & late nights: "There is time enough for sleep when in the grave - Ben Franklin or Conan the Barbarian, or somebody." 😉

(Actually, a similar quote is attributed to both Franklin & Shakespeare)
